Challenges for eBay

While eBay’s CEO, John Donahoe (Donahoe), opined that same day shipping was inevitable and would be everywhere, there was an armada of competitors and a host of potential rivals in the form of startups ready to compete with eBay. However, apart from the competition, there were various other concerns about the same-day delivery service started by eBay. By 2015, eBay was aiming to double its active user count to 200 million and expected to report around $21.5 billion and $23.5 billion in revenue for the same year. By 2015, its PayPal unit also expected to double the amount of payments processed during 2012 ($145 billion).
